On this page you can download the demo version of Hitbase 2003 English.

To install the demo version of Hitbase 2003 English, please follow the instructions below:

Step 1:

Before installing please read the release notes carefully. Please back up your old Hitbase catalogs.

Step 2:

Check the system requirements. The following operating systems will be supported:

• Windows 98
• Windows 98 SE
• Windows ME
• Windows 2000
• Windows XP

Please note: Hitbase 2003 does NOT run under Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0!

Step 3:

Hitbase 2003 uses the new MSI (Microsoft Installer) technology. Before you can install Hitbase 2003, the MSI 2.0 have to be installed on your computer. The MSI is part of Windows XP and will be installed by some applications as well (e.g. Microsoft Office XP). If the MSI 2.0 is not installed on your machine, you can download the setup file here. Otherwise you can continue with step 4.
If you are not sure, whether the MSI is installed on your machine, you can just try to install Hitbase 2003. If you get no error during the setup, everything is fine.

Only for Windows ME and Windows 2000 (pre-SP2) users:
Hitbase saves all data in the MS-Access database format and uses the Microsoft Jet-Engine 4.0. The original version of the JET database interface had an error, which could cause Hitbase to crash under certain conditions. Microsoft provides a service pack which corrects this problem. Click here to go to the support pages of Microsoft and download the Service Pack for the Jet-Engine 4.0.

Note: You don't need the JET-Engine Service Pack if you have Windows 98, Windows 2000 SP2 and higher or Windows XP installed. These versions are not effected by the bug or have the bug fix integrated.
