CD-archive
Click
here to move to our CD-Archive server und search for CDs or tracks.
Big 3 Software has founded the
CD-archive project 1999. It was our main
goal to create an extensive CD-archive with a very high quality. This is
achieved by many Hitbase users, who provide their CD-catalog (or only seperate
CDs) and transfer it to our CD-archive. This helps to save other Hitbase users
from entering their CD data manually when a new unknown CD is inserted.
We kindly ask you to transfer your CD-catalog
to the CD-archive. With Hitbase 2001 (or higher) this is
very easy and takes only a few steps:
- Make sure you have choosen the CD-archive
"Hitbase
(Internet)" and the option
Transfer new CDs to this archive
is activated. Use "www.cdarchiv.de" as
the source.
- Open your catalog.
- Choose the command "Transfer catalog to
CD-archive" in the "File" menu.
- The CDs will be
transfered to our server now. Please note that no
personal information will be transmitted to Big 3 Software.
Merely the pure CD data (such as artist, title, track name,
etc.) will be saved in the CD archive.
Note: While transfering the CDs,
Hitbase checks the data for plausibility. This should prevent the database
from incomplete or wrong entered CDs. That's why it could happen, that not
every CD will be transfered.
Just a short note to the data collection:
To make sure that
the CD archive has a homogeneous form
and structure, it is necessary
to follow special rules when entering your CD data. Of course this is not always
possible to manage but we kindly ask you to keep the following rules in mind.
To help make our job easier, we would ask you to observe the following
points:
- Enter the surname of the artist before the christian
name. For example. "Adams, Bryan". The article should also be
placed after the name as in "Beatles, The".
- Restrict the number of categories that you use (i.e. no
sub-categories like "Rock, 60's"). Click here for a list
of recommended categories.
- Enter only universally useful information in the comment-field.
Entries such as "lent to Peter" won't be much use to other users.
- Make use of upper- & lower-case. Although many CD's only have the
title in upper-case, try to use case sensibly (e.g. names in upper-case).
- Only CD's with a so-called "CD-identity" will be included in the
CD-archive. This field is filled automatically by all versions since Hitline95
once a catalogued CD is loaded into the drive.
Although there is no compulsion to follow these guidelines you will help to
minimize our work if you do comply. Thanks!
If you don't have an internet connection and
still want to make your catalog available, you can send it to:
